In CIS, excelling in school is more than just going to class and achieving good
grades; it is being able to handle class, work, and other activities without overwhelming
oneself.
CIS believes that activities increase a child's confidence levels and teaches them
responsibility and discipline. They can help children to hone their specific interests
and fine-tune skills, to develop hobbies, which in turn, can pave the way for their
future goals, dreams, activities and career. Participating in extracurricular activities inculcates
lifelong friendships, complements academics and indicates a well-rounded personality.
CIS offers a wide range of activities for the children to choose from. It includes
CRICKET, FOOTBALL, BASKET BALL, TAEKWONDO, SQUASH, TABLE TENNIS, CHESS, CHOIR, QUIZ,
JAPANESE, PUBLIC SPEAKING, DIGITAL DESIGN, DUKE OF EDINBURUGH AWARD SCHEME, EARTHCLUB,
PHOTOGRAPHY, LAWN TENNIS & GUITAR. Except Lawn Tennis and Squash, all the activities
are held on campus. Timings are from 3 to 4 pm, Monday to Thursday, 2 to
3 pm on Fridays, and 8.30 am to 12 noon on Saturdays.
Students actively take part in the end-of-year concert 'Funtasia', school carnival and the annual
sports. They also contribute to the school's yearbook, and the popular newsletter
‘CIS HERALD’.
